With our expertise in providing affordable motoring to the UK motorist, you can now quickly and easily save money on a new car using our unique finance and comprehensive insurance tools.
How does First Step Motoring work?
Once you have chosen a car and added any optional extras, you can apply for finance and insurance by clicking on the "apply" buttons on the finance and insurance pages on the car listing. Alternatively, complete the enquiry form in "Step 4". We will then contact you by telephone to finalise the purchase of your new car and take your deposit by credit card. A £99 deposit is all that is required to order a new car.
We will then prepare a vehicle order form showing the car details and price. We will email a copy of the order form to you to check it before putting a paper copy in the post for you to sign and return.
When we receive your signed order form, we will order your new car from the manufacturer.
When your new car arrives at our dealership, we will allocate a registration number so you can arrange your car insurance. We will also send out your finance documents for signing. We will also carry out a free pre-delivery inspection on your new car to make sure everything is OK. Arrangements will then be made to deliver it to you.
How long will I have to wait for my new car?
This varies depending on the car manufacturer. If the vehicle is in stock then we can arrange delivery normally within 7 to 14 days. The worst case scenario is that we have to place an order with the factory. This could delay delivery by up to 12 weeks. Please contact one of our advisors and we'll be happy to check availability for you.
Are the prices shown "on the road" including road tax and registration fees?
Yes, the prices shown include at least six months road tax and the Government first registration fee.
How much do you charge for delivery?
Transported delivery to any location on the UK mainland is charged at £1.20 per mile from postcode DN2 4QP to your postcode, the mileage being determined by the AA route planner.
Do I get a warranty with the car?
Yes. Your vehicle comes with the full UK manufacturer's warranty and breakdown package. In most cases the warranty is for three years although some manufacturer's are now offering up to seven years warranty on selected models.
Are the cars imports?
No. All our cars are sourced directly from our official UK main dealer and come with the full standard UK specification and after-sales packages. We do not sell parallel or grey imports.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. In today's economic climate we would not expect to pay for something that you haven't seen. We only ask for payment when the car has been delivered to you. If you use our finance facility, your first payment is taken approximately one month after the car has been delivered.
Where do I get the car serviced?
It's advisable to have your car serviced at your local main dealer as they have the tools, parts and expertise to ensure that the car is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's service schedule. What's more, it's important that your vehicle is maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's service schedule to ensure that your vehicle's warranty isn't affected by inadequate servicing.
What if there's a problem with the car, do I need to bring it back to you?
No. In the unlikely event that a fault occurs due to a manufacturing defect, then simply take the vehicle to your local main dealer and they will be able to rectify the problem under the manufacturer's warranty.
Can we collect the car from you?
Yes. You can collect your car from one of our car dealerships if you wish. Please let us know when ordering.
